Eragrostis, çim ailesindeki geniş ve yaygın bir bitki cinsidir, birçok ülkede tüm yerleşik kıtalarda ve birçok adada bulunur. Eragrostis yaygın olarak lovegrass veya canegrass olarak bilinir. Cinsin adı Yunanca “aşk” anlamına gelen ἔρως ve “çim” anlamına gelen ἄγρωστις kelimelerinden türetilmiştir. Aşk’ı temsil eden bitkisin türkçesi “salkım yulaf”tır.
